
Shipping Policy — The Cultivary

Thank you for supporting The Cultivary.
We take pride in carefully packaging and shipping healthy tropical houseplants from Texas with the goal of delivering them safely and in excellent condition.
Please review the following shipping policies before placing an order.
1. Nursery Certification & Compliance
The Cultivary ships live plants in compliance with applicable state and federal agricultural regulations.
We are a licensed Texas nursery operating under a Texas Nursery Floral Certificate (Class 2). Plants are inspected and shipped in accordance with applicable plant health and transport requirements.
Certain plants may be restricted from shipment to specific states due to agricultural regulations. If an order cannot legally be shipped to your location, we reserve the right to cancel and refund the order.
2. Shipping Methods
We currently ship live plants within the United States using trusted carriers such as:
Standard Shipping
- Standard shipping is typically shipped using a 2-business-day service
- Orders over $100 USD qualify for free standard shipping
- Orders under $100 are charged calculated shipping rates at checkout
Shipping transit times are estimates provided by the carrier and are not guaranteed unless explicitly stated by the carrier.
3. Processing Time
Most orders are processed within:
- 1–5 business days
We may delay shipping during:
- Extreme weather conditions
- Holidays
- Carrier service disruptions
- Plant recovery periods
- High order volume
We reserve the right to hold shipments if temperatures are considered unsafe for live plant transport.
4. Packaging Standards
Plants are packaged carefully to minimize stress and transit damage, including:
- Secured pots and root systems
- Protective wrapping and insulation when appropriate
- Weather protection materials when necessary
Minor cosmetic imperfections, soil movement, or light stress from shipping are considered normal for live plants and do not qualify as shipping damage.
5. Weather & Seasonal Shipping
Customers are responsible for monitoring local weather conditions before ordering.
The Cultivary is not responsible for plant stress or damage caused by:
- Heat exposure
- Freezing temperatures
- Delayed package retrieval
- Mailbox or porch exposure after delivery
- Incorrect shipping addresses provided by the customer
Customers may request delayed shipment timing when weather conditions are unsafe.
6. Shipping Damage Policy
If a plant arrives significantly damaged due to carrier mishandling during transit, we may offer:
- Refund to the original payment method, or
- Store credit/shop credit
Refund decisions are made after review of the claim and carrier responsibility determination.
Damage Claim Requirements
To qualify for a damage claim, customers must:
- Contact us within 24 hours of delivery
- Provide clear photographs of:
- The plant
- Packaging
- Shipping box
- Shipping label
- Retain all original packaging materials until the claim is resolved
Failure to provide timely documentation may result in denial of the claim.
7. Carrier Delays
While we package plants carefully for transit, we are not responsible for delays caused by:
- Carrier operational issues
- Weather events
- Natural disasters
- Service interruptions outside of our control
However, if carrier negligence results in confirmed severe transit damage, compensation may be issued at our discretion after carrier review and approval.
8. Incorrect Addresses
Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information.
If a package is returned due to:
- Incorrect address
- Failed delivery attempts
- Refused delivery
Additional shipping charges may apply before reshipment.
We are not responsible for live plant condition after failed or delayed delivery attempts caused by incorrect customer information.
9. Order Cancellations
Orders may be canceled before shipment processing begins.
Once an order has shipped, it cannot be canceled.
